The Dortmunder Westfalenhallen encompass an area of 60.000 square meters including altogether 9 event halls. The most famous is Hall 1 which is listed as a historical monument. Opened in 1952 it is an event location with great tradition.
The lower level mobile telescopic platforms being some 30 years old by now must be renewed to meet the latest technical requirements. We were awarded the contract for planning, tendering and supervising a new mobile telescopic platform with seating. The platform is split up in separate blocks designed with a slide-out mechanism. It will be put up where the permanently dismantled cycling track once had been.
Our concept allows a utilization of the new telescopic platform in all other halls of the complex due to a special positioning facility. A particular challenge poses the transport route; the outdoor area is partly bumpy and has some inclinations of >10%.
